December 24, 2004. WHRC Director-Elect John P. Holdren Named President-Elect of AAAS.

December 8, 2004. Incoming director John P. Holdren co-chairs National Commission on Energy Policy, producing the report "Ending the Energy Stalemate" - A Bipartisan Strategy to Meet America's Energy Challenges.

October 2, 2004. Research Center participates in annual Green Buildings Open House

July 2, 2004. Harvard's Dr. John Holdren named new director of Woods Hole Research Center. To assume position in June of 2005.

June 22, 2004. Boston book editor-publisher Merloyd Ludington elected trustee of the Woods Hole Research Center.

April 22, 2004. Woods Hole Research Center's Ordway Campus selected among American Institute of Architects "Top Ten Green Projects."

March 25, 2004. NASA-funded researchers at the Research Center use "SLEUTH" computer model to project development in the Washington, DC - Baltimore area.

March 10, 2004. The Woods Hole Research Center's new high-performance building earns a first prize in the 2004 Northeast Sustainable Energy Association's Green Building Awards.

Previous Years

May 3, 2003. The Woods Hole Research Center has received a grant of $273,692 from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's Green Buildings Program for the permitting and installation of a wind turbine at its new Ordway Campus

June 6, 2002. At the invitation of the president of Brazil, Kilaparti Ramakrishna joins world leaders in planning the forthcoming United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development.

May 30, 2002. The Woods Hole Research Center has received a grant of $226,308 from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's Green Buildings Program for the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic array and energy monitoring system at its new Ordway Campus.

October 5, 2001. The 2001 Volvo Environment Prize was awarded to Dr. George M. Woodwell, founder and director of the Woods Hole Research Center.

February 5th, 2001. Visiting Distinguished Scientist Dr. John P. Holdren receives the 2001 Heinz Award in Public Policy.
